Shifting Andrea to a bigger room day 4 and 5
This weekend we took the final steps in moving Andrea to a bigger room. Her room was already done, including Dora pictures on the wall. Her clothers were still in the small room, because our clothes were still in the closet on her big room. On Saturday we started with cleaning out the closet in our room, took apart the closet and build the new Ikea Pax closet. We were done with all of this around diner. Since Andrea played very well by herself and helped with putting nails in back of the closet and screwing a bit after diner we went outside with Andrea and played with her. On Sunday we started with putting the doors of the Pax closet together. All of this (including cleaning of the closet) was done around 14.30. After that the shelves and drawers still needed to be put into it. This was all done around 5pm. After that all clothes from Andrea’s room needed to be moved to our room and Andrea’s clothes were moved to Andrea’s new room. Everything, including putting Andrea to bed, was done at 8.50 pm. Mom and dad are exhausted, but Andrea’s room is now finalized. They only thing still to be done for the new baby is putting up the baby bed and cleaning the babyroom, since it is now a bit of a storage room.
Preparations for shifting Andrea to a bigger room: day 1
To have a decent room for the baby we had decided that Andrea would move to Omi-room and Omi would move to mommy room. Today was the first day of preparations for this. We wanted to move the desk of mommy to Daddy’s room and had anticipated that it would not take too long. Unfortunately it took a bit more time and it is still not finalized. When the desk of mommy was moved into daddy’s room it became clear that that was no solution, so we moved it out again. Daddy’s desk has been made bigger. Next to that, Billy has moved places with Effectiv. The task for tomorrow is to get (which is now) omi-room nice and cosy.
Andrea found out that there was a big trunk with lots of toys in it. She behaved the whole day like a perfect child. Played alone, helped moving books, helped cleaning and helped screwing. Mom and dad are exhausted and Andrea is in bed sleeping. To be continued.
Kijken naar het zand
“Ik wil in de zandbak spelen”. “Kan niet, want de zand is te nat”. “dan ga ik kijken naar het zand”
Ballenbak
Yesterday Andrea was pretending that she and all animals and dolls were playing in the “ballenbak”. She kept her fantasy for quite some time. We therefore decided to take her to a real “ballenbak” on Sunday. We went to Ballorig in Houten. It was very busy, I guess a lot of people were sick of the snow and wanted to play inside. Andrea had a marvellous time. She played in the “ballenbak” and on “springkussens”. When we asked her what she wanted for lunch she said “frietjes” so we gave her some fries and fristi (aardbeiensap). After that she jumped and run and rolled down the “springkussen”. She really loved it. Her cheeks were getting more red and more red from tiredness. She did not want to go to sleep and did not want to go home, yet she fell asleep in the car after 5 minutes. She slept for about 5-10 minutes in the car. At home we put her to bed, but she did not want to sleep anymore. She was happy and cheerful and run around the house for the rest of the day. We put her a bit earlier to bed tonight and we have not heard her anymore. She had a marvellous time. Dad is a bit sore from all the carrying and helping her up to go down the slide.
Zondagochtend

What a night
Last night was a rough night. The day went rather normal. I picked up Andrea from daycare and quickly made some diner for us. I asked her whether she would like frietjes or pasta and she replied “fietjes en fikedel”. She ate the whole frikandel (like she always does) and some fries. After that we played a bit and watched 1tje bumba and 1tje kikker geen sesamstraat together and after that it was time for her to go to bed. She did not fight too much against it. I put on her pyjamas and went to the bathroom to get her druppeltjes and to brush her teeth. She started to walk away and not listen so I told her no bedtime story. She went to bed (without bedtime story) and did not complain. Around 22.15 there was some small cries sound coming from her room. I went up and did not see anything wrong. After that I also went to bed. half an hour later she started to cry rather loud and I jumped out of bed (since normally she does not cry that loud). She was covered with frietjes and frikandel (half digested). I picked her up, took of her pyjamas, cleaned her a bit, put on new pyjamas and put her in our bed. After that I put new pyjamas on and cleaned her bed. We went back to sleep in our bed. Two hours later she started again. This time it was our bed and the floor next to the bed that was covered with frietjes and frikandel (more digested). Again: take off pyjamas, clean, put on new pyjamas, put her in her own bed, take off my own pyjamas, cleaned our bed. After that I went to check on her and she was looking frightened at me, so I took her with me in our bed. After a while dad arrived home and we were both still awake. so we told daddy what had happened. One hour later…. yes the same thing again. So again I took off her pyjamas, cleaned her etc…. This was the last clean pyjamas we had. After this she stayed in our bed and slept until 8.30 although she was awake for some time and turning a lot.
During the day she was rather cheerfull today. She did not eat too much though, but she does not appear to be sick. She ate some pasta this evening and hopefully that will stay in her stomach tonight. We will keep you posted.
